birders' nest
We have had the privilege of working with these eco-conscious legacy clients for over a decade. Their lovely home is situated on the historic W&OD Trail with stunning views that we were careful to feature in our design choices. We ensured that curtains framed the vistas and did not block the bird watching and placed mirrors to reflect nature. The first project in this home was the primary suite, where we utilized some of the bedroom square footage to enlarge the bathroom to accommodate two sinks and to add a walk-in closet with an energy efficient, tubular skylight for natural lighting. Then we moved on to drapery throughout the home. More recently, the client had us help redesign the exterior colors and trim work. The latest project included refreshing the kitchen with all new finishes while retaining the solid wood cabinets, as well as getting new hardwood flooring and fresh paint throughout the entire main level. We also sourced custom area rugs, some furnishings, and new textiles throughout. The custom textiles included pillows for the living room and entry bench and chair cushions for the dining room, breakfast table, desk area, and reading nook. With some tweaks to the layout, an art and accessory refresh, we accomplished exactly what the homeowners had dreamed of.
